The Problem

The timber industry is very traditional and it can be difficult to communicate innovative solutions to old problems. Part of the problem is that people simply won't believe you and the other part of the problem is communicating in terms potential users, who don't know how software can help them, can understand.

Our Solution

We spent a lot of time with loggers and timber dealers in an effort to understand how they communicate. While other enterprise solutions focus on bullet points and corporate jargon, we wanted TRACT to feel colloquial and relatable. So, we came up with the slogan, "Solving the settlement headache.". It hit all of our communication goals: colloquial, simple and to the point.

One huge task of branding TRACT was in the actual naming process. We needed something relatable that potential customers could remember. After wading through several other options, we finally landed on a name that not only felt modern and sharp, but communicated exactly what the software helps manage: timber tracts.

Tradeshows can have a big impact for companies in traditional industries and TRACT is no exception. The biggest goal we had was to design swag that attendees couldn't pass up and people were literally lining up to get their hands on TRACT swag at the first tradeshow.

The biggest focus of the TRACT project was communicating the value of a product that solved several industry bottlenecks in a simple way. We accomplished this by focusing on imagery rather than bullet points.

Simplicity and effectiveness is a theme that occurs throughout all of our projects, and it's incredibly satisfying when it comes together. We really focused on this with TRACT's digital brand and even introduced a way to track ROI with a simple user signup.
